Lesson\/Unit Summary: <\/strong>In this unit, students learn about prepositions to indicate locations as well as the interrogative adverb \u201cwhere\u201d to ask about places. The teaching materials, which include maps of places with authentic shop names, are related to students\u2019 daily lives. To make the lessons more interesting to students, different resources such as PowerPoint slides, songs and soft toys are used. The various teaching aids can cater for students\u2019 different learning styles. Various activities have also been devised. An information gap activity has been included in Lesson 3 to encourage interaction between students and to consolidate students\u2019 learning. In addition to verbal communication, students are also given an opportunity to draw a school map based on the song lyrics, which can facilitate the teacher to assess students\u2019 understanding of the target prepositions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

  2. \n\t\tShow an understanding of the prepositions next to, across, in front of <\/em>and behind <\/em>by drawing a school map to indicate location. (Lesson 2)<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>
  3. \n\t\tUse the interrogative adverb \u201cwhere\u201d to ask about location: Where is the _______________? <\/em>(Lesson 3)<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>
  4. \n\t\tUse prepositions to indicate location: The ______ is (different prepositions) the ________.<\/em>(Lesson 3)<\/span><\/span>\n\t<\/li>
