Lesson/Unit Summary: The travel experience of the familiar Hong Kong cartoon figure, McDull, is presented as the context to raise students’ interest and learning motivation. One distinctive feature of the lesson is the use of the comparison strategy for students to discover the differences and similarities of the article system in the English language and the students’ first language, Chinese. The lesson ends with a dictogloss activity to assess students’ learning.
